Tyler Searls, Urban Forest Planner - RPP, RPF, M.Sc
Tyler is a Registered Professional Forester and Registered Professional Planner. He joined the Diamond Head team in 2021, having previously worked in land use planning capacities across Eastern Canada. Tyler holds a Bachelor of Community Design from Dalhousie University, a Master of Science in Forestry from the University of New Brunswick, and a Graduate Certificate in Urban Forestry from the University of Oregon. His work at DHC bridges all phases of strategic plan development in urban forestry, including field data collection, GIS analysis, research, professional writing, community engagement, environmental modeling, operational planning, strategic recommendations, and project management. Tyler is the lead author and project manager on several of our recent urban forest management strategies and plans. His project work prioritizes a community-centered approach, featuring tailored engagement strategies, compelling narratives, polished presentations, and evidence-driven strategic directions supported by meaningful analyses and visualizations.
