Shell McDonald, Junior Biologist - BUF
Shell is a Junior Biologist, with a Bachelor of Science in Ecological Restoration. During her degree, Shell’s applied research project involved developing a restoration plan for woodland caribou habitat in the Blueberry River First Nations Territory. Shell has worked in invasive plant management, park operations, and prior to her career in biology, as a graphic designer. At Diamond Head, Shell is gaining experience working on a variety of projects for both private and government clients. This includes conducting invasive species inventories, watercourse assessments, environmental assessments, bird nesting surveys, and fish salvages. Over the next five years, Shell’s goal is to blur the lines between urban and wild spaces. Using ecosystem restoration and conservation strategies to enhance habitat quality and connectivity in urban centres.
