Amy Hendel, Operations Coordinator - RBTech, B.A., Dip. Renewable Resources
Amy has over 15 years’ experience in the Renewable Resource sector, focusing on invasive species management. Amy completed her Fish, Wildlife and Recreation management program at BCIT, and has since worked in multiple field positions focusing on invasive species control. At Diamond Head Amy manages five invasive species treatment crews who specialize in knotweed and giant hogweed control. With over a decade of experience behind her, Amy has become a regional expert in knotweed management. She implements city wide knotweed control programs for over a dozen local municipalities and government agencies. She also develops knotweed management plans for construction sites and provides expertise and supervision in situations where knotweed must be excavated, moved or stock piled. She delivers knotweed related training workshops to a variety of audiences including invasive species practitioners, stewardship groups, and land local government staff. Before joining DHC in 2015, Amy led operational crews and served as Assistant Executive Director at the Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver (ISCMV).
