Cassandra Cummings, Manager - Biology Division - RPBio, MCIP, RPP, M.Sc. (Biology), M.Sc. (Planning), B.Sc. Hons. (Environmental Science SSP Biology)
Cassandra Cummings has been curious about the natural environment for as long as she can remember. This has been reflected throughout her career, completing biological field studies in the Adirondacks, Ontario and throughout British Columbia over the past ten years. Her education has brought her across Canada, completing a masters in biology from Queens University and a masters in planning focusing on environment and natural resource planning from UBC. She is a Registered Professional Biologist and a Registered Professional Planner. Cassandra draws on her biology background and knowledge of planning and policy tools to help clients navigate municipal, provincial, and federal laws to reduce the impact of development on the environment and protect environmentally sensitive areas. She uses this unique skill set to work on projects at a variety of scales including watercourse assessments; environmental inventories & assessments; fish habitat restoration projects; raptors nest management plans; invasive species surveys; and city-wide environmental policies, strategies and plans. She looks forward to continuing to put these skills to good use, balancing protection of the natural environment with building a better community for all.
