Max Rathburn, Principal, Senior Arborist - ISA Certified Arborist®

Max is an ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Risk Assessor, and experienced in Tree Appraisal, with over 25 years of experience in arboriculture. Over his career, he has worked with several forestry and arboriculture companies as well as owning Rathburn Tree Experts Ltd. for 17 years. Rathburn Tree Experts Ltd. was a full-service tree care company with a focus on holistic tree health care and tree preservation. Max has accumulated a vast amount of knowledge in all realms of arboriculture that he now applies to arboricultural consulting. Over the last ten years, his consulting services have focused on tree preservation on land development, construction and infrastructure projects. Max has been an expert witness in court cases in regard to tree appraisal and tree valuation. His experience includes undertaking tree risk assessments, supervising construction activities related to tree retention, tree health diagnostics, teaching, and innovating construction methods for tree retention success. He also specializes in writing specifications for tree transplanting, root zone enhancements, and tree health care. Max occasionally falls back to his tree service roots and undertakes aerial tree inspections and other tree service activities. Max has taught arboriculture for the Burnaby School Board Adult Education program, seminars and the BC Landscaping & Nursery Association (BCLNA).
