Aubrey Butcher, Restoration Biologist - RPBio, M.Sc. (Ecological Restoration), B.Sc. (Environmental Biology)

Aubrey is a restoration biologist who is passionate about protecting and improving our natural environment. He has been working at DHC since completing his Master's degree in Ecological Restoration in 2017. Aubrey's work mainly revolves around conducting ecosystem inventories, developing restoration plans, and carrying out environmental planning to enrich natural areas. He has led various projects for private and public sector clients, providing environmental assessments and surveys and ensuring that projects comply with environmental standards and regulations. Recently, Aubrey led an ecological baselines study for the University of British Columbia, which assessed the current ecological conditions across the Vancouver campus. The information gathered helped guide the future vision of ecology on campus, inform future planning policies at UBC, and act as a baseline to compare against future conditions. Aubrey's goal is to continue his work of protecting existing natural areas and improving the interface between the urban and natural world through restoring wildlife habitat and reducing the impact of built environments.
