Kevin Hutchins, Junior Biologist - BA, M.Sc
Kevin Hutchins is a Junior Biologist at Diamond Head. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Ecological Determinants of Health in Society with a Minor in Geography in 2018 at McGill University. While at McGill, Kevin worked as a Research Assistant for the Geography Department, collecting data at the Mer Bleue peatland. After moving to British Columbia, Kevin received a Master of Science in Ecological Restoration. His research used a numerical model to simulate the impacts of sea-level rise on a tidal wetland offset in the Lower Mainland. Through his work at Diamond Head, Kevin has gained experience working on a variety of projects for both private and government entities. This includes conducting invasive species inventories, watercourse assessments, environmental assessments, bird nesting surveys, and fish salvages. He has also developed multiple Construction Environmental Management and Restoration Plans for development projects. As a team member at Diamond Head, Kevin looks to guide future development in the Lower Mainland in a way that can help our society grow while also preserving the vital ecosystem functions so many species rely on.
