Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation
Invasive Species Management Strategy
Diamond Head worked with the Vancouver Parks Board to develop an Invasive Species Management Strategy. The project kicked off with an invasive plant inventory of all Vancouver parks. This inventory provides a baseline, enabling Park staff to properly plan and execute targeted efforts to mitigate impacts and better control the introduction and spread of invasive species.
The Strategy is an operational document that provides strategic and technical guidance on all facets of invasive species management. Throughout the project Diamond Head is worked closely with a staff working group.
Along with the Strategy, Diamond Head developed an invasive species prioritization chart, invasive species identification sheets and Best Management Practices for over a dozen key invasive species.
