City of Port Moody
Knotweed Management Plan and Inventory
Diamond Head developed a strategic plan for the management of knotweed on City lands. The project included a City-wide inventory. The plan provided a sound technical basis for knotweed management and a ranking framework to determine treatment priorities.
Diamond Head conducted a workshop for staff to review the plan and training sessions for operations staff. Subsequently Diamond Head has continued to work with the City since 2015 to carry out annual knotweed treatment, expand the knotweed inventory and to plan and implement restoration plantings at sites where knotweed is now under control.
